Sage Publications are developing extensive collections of educational videos for Sage Video online – for university libraries around the world to subscribe to. The collections ‘support a range of levels, from reference content for research, to pedagogical content for undergraduate teaching, to higher-level academic interest material’.

So far Sightline (one of three producers) has filmed and edited 40 hours of video for three sections: Media & Communications, Politics & International Relations, and Psychology.

Our producers coordinated the contributors, scripts and storyboards. Our directors and crews filmed at numerous locations in the UK and Europe to produce case studies and tutorial videos presented by academics and authors, and in-practice videos featuring specialists at work.

We incorporated people presenting to-camera or being interviewed – inter-cut with background footage, photos and graphics. We followed Sage’s strict editing and style guidelines for titles and graphics. The videos run between 10 and 20 minutes.

“I have had the pleasure of working with Sightline over the past year and I have been hugely impressed with their strong editorial values, relationship management with our authors and contributors, not to mention the final product. The Senior Producers are not only very professional in what they do but also bags of fun to work with!” MICHAEL CARMICHAEL, Video Publisher, SAGE Publications
