Care and Evidence:
Training for the NHS
The website is one of two media tools we developed for this NHS project, commission by Kings College Hospital and the Home Office.
The website - which we are currently updating - explains the protocol devised by the NHS, Home Office and Police for setting a national standard for A&E staff and other health professionals - on how to care for sexual assault victims and take evidence that might be used in court.
The site includes two training modules.
Each one contains a set of video sequences which we wrote and produced. The first module shows how to care for victims of sexual assault when they present themselves. The second shows how to gather evidence from their body and clothing.
Filmed at Kings College Hospital and surrounding locations, the videos feature Actors playing assailants and victims, and real Doctors and Nurses from the Hospital, and Metropolitan Police Officers
The videos were also distributed on DVD to hospitals across the UK.
